Middle/Lower Wissahickon..Roughly 6.5 miles, quick pace

** 6:15 SHARP departure** Note: Sunset is 6:58, so it will be dark for the last hour of the hike! Bring a Headlamp or other light source, red light is preferred as white constricts the pupil and makes it harder to see outside the white light circle. This weeks "weekly night hike" will take us to the Middle and Lower Wissahickon. We will be covering about 6.5 miles. Plan to move at about 3.2-3.5 mph with very few short stops to regroup. Be prepared to do your part by keeping up and communicating to those behind you when we come across intersections in the woods: straight, left or right. We do our best to stick together and look out for one another. But if you are really struggling, you will need to find your way back to car. Gear required and/or suggested: hiking footwear as there will be plenty of rocks and roots, water, bug/tick spray and headlamp if desired. PARKING AND MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at the entrance to the parking lot of Blue Bell Park located at 842 W Walnut Lane (see Meetup pin). Gates close at dark, so park on Walnut Lane near the entrance to the lot. There is plenty of parking on Walnut Lane near the park entrance. Do not leave valuables in plain sight!
