About the Event
Many edible plants that thrive in our tropical climate are often overlooked, despite their rich nutritional value, resilience, and fascinating cultural stories. This workshop introduces participants to a selection of local herbs and vegetables that can be easily grown and enjoyed at home.
More than a traditional lecture, this is a hands-on sensory workshop that encourages participants to experience plants with all their senses. Participants will have the opportunity to see, touch, smell, and even taste selected plant parts while discovering their culinary uses, nutritional benefits, and connections to local heritage.
A live demonstration of herbal tea steeping will also be conducted, allowing participants to sample how fresh garden plants can be transformed into simple, flavourful beverages.
Through stories, sensory exploration, and practical gardening tips, this workshop aims to inspire participants to rediscover the edible plants growing around us and to appreciate how local biodiversity can contribute to healthier and more sustainable living.
