A unique juxtaposition of brightest gems of French classical duet music (Debussy, Fauré and Saint-Saëns) will shine alongside moonlit jazz standards (East of the Sun, Polkadots and Moonbeams) swinging in a single concert. THE ARTISTS:
Langa DubazanaLanga Dubazana is a graduate of The South African College of Music (SACM) at UCT with a BMus in Jazz Studies with distinction, where he studied drum set and played in the UCT Big Band. His versatility spans Cape Town’s jazz combos, big bands and musical theatre — from Kinky Boots The Musical to the Klein Karoo Klassique Festival. As a classical percussionist he won the Hendrik Hofmeyr Prize (2024) and is a member of the Ergonomix Percussion Ensemble.
Yohan ChunYohan is a South Korean pianist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist working in Cape Town, at home in classical, jazz, popular, opera and musical theatre circles. She has toured Asia with The Sound of Music, played as soloist at the Baxter, Artscape and the Durban and Cape Town City Halls, and has just returned from more than two years performing on Disney Cruise ships with her husband, Francois Botha. BMus Honours, UCT; winner of the FMR Bursary Competition.
Francois BothaFrancois Botha is a pianist, double bassist and vocalist active in Cape Town’s classical, jazz and popular music scenes. He has worked with artists including Andrea Bocelli and Stephen Hough, toured Asia with The Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera, and performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Philharmonie in Berlin. Most recently he performed with his wife, Yohan Chun, on Disney Cruise Lines. BMus Honours, UCT; winner of the FMR Bursary Competition.
