Claddagh Toastmasters Speakers Corner in the Park Meeting

It is envisaged that Claddagh Toastmasters will have a new indoor venue to meet for the 17th September and hopefully in the Schuman Area. Hence our back to work meeting on Thursday 3rd September is not the normal indoor club meeting and as an interim measure, the club will have another speakers corner meeting. Meetings at Speakers Corner are most popular with members and guests! Members and Guests most welcome admission free, feel free to bring your own drinks, a sandwich or if you are more ambitious, a picnic. The option exists for members and guests to meet first from 6pm at Saint Martins Pub recently re-opened pub. to have a coffee or beer on the tree-lined terrace. Saint Martins Pub opposite the European Bookshop on Avenue de la Chevalerie as it is only a four minutes walk from Speakers Corner Across from the European Bookshop is a corner grocery shop, where you can also buy something to eat and drink for your picnic. For those that arrive early, there is a well-known shop called Sugina on between Saint Martins and the Park on Av. de la Chevalerie. It is bio and natural shop and closes at 8pm. The Bus 61 for Gare du Nord to Merode stops at Avenue de la Chevalerie. The outdoor ‘Speakers Corner’ location is it in a corner of Parc Cinquentenaire, It is in the Triangular Section on the Merode Metro side of of the Park along vintage tram rail side on Avenue de L’ Yser. Best Western Plus Park is on this street. After a few 100 meters, you will see a pedestrian entrance and walk down the steps in into the Green Area. Turn right and head for the Cluster of Trees in a Circle. We meet at this Cluster. The tree cluster is about 50 meters to the North of the Mémorial de Guerre de l'Armée de l'Air Belge. See address location on google map You can also enter the park from Merode metro on righthand side small and take the footpath and you will come to the steps and walk down into the Green Area. Or you can enter Park and walk on road on right hand side the circular pond and fountain and then enter the green area with a gap to your right and then turn left and you will see the Cluster Circle of trees in the Green Area. This will be an informal meeting, feel free to bring something to drink bottle and eat if you wish, it would be wise to bring some water! For your comfort, you can bring a rug or cushion! If there is a sudden shower of rain,we can move to the covered colonnade of the nearby military museum facing the cobbled stone square. See map of park, and photo of Cluster of Trees in Park. After the table topics session and evaluations, After our Speaker Corner Meeting we return to Saint Martin's Pub.
