About the event

Agnès Varda poured her highly personal memories of her life partner Jacques Demy into this heartwarming in memoriam. Artist Jacques Demy, towards the end of his life, looks back at early influences from his youth in Nantes. Thanks to unique films such as Les parapluies de Cherbourg and Les demoiselles de Rochefort, Jacques Demy has gone down in film history as 'the maestro of the sung feature film', or in French 'les films enchantés'. He passed away in 1990. Agnès Varda, both a fellow filmmaker and his life partner, created a beautiful in memoriam in Jacquot de Nantes.
