Dolly-Palooza
About the event
We can't think of a better way to celebrate all things Dolly Parton than honouring a fierce library advocate with her own Dolly-Palooza! What's a Dolly-Palooza, you might ask? We don't know entirely either, but here's what we'll do: A screening of the library related film, The Library That Dolly Built: Celebrating the People Who Made Dolly's Dream Come True, then additional screenings with The Best Little Chicken House in Texas and finally, the 1989 classic gem Steel Magnolias. We will also have Dolly related trivia and colouring sheets available during the intermissions. But here's the fun part, we know that the world is made up of Dolly fans, so we want you to participate too! Have you always wanted to belt out Jolene in a safe space, or dress up as Dolly but needed an excuse to do that? Maybe you are thinking about forming your own Dolly Parton Tribute Band and looking for other musicians, or want to reminisce about all the good memories of a Dolly concert you went to? Well, we're here to provide Dolly fans with the community space to do just that! -- Schedule: 2:00-4:00 Screening of The Best Little Chicken House in Texas 4:00-4:30 Intermission with Dolly Colouring Sheets and Open Mic 4:30-5:30 Special Screening: The Library That Dolly Built: Celebrating the People Who Made Dolly's Dream Come True 5:30-6:00 Intermission with All Dolly Trivia 6:00-8:00 Screening of Steel Magnolias --- The Best Little Chicken House in Texas (2003).
