In an age of the #tradwife and partial reversal of Roe v. Wade, Bryan Forbes’ 1975 thriller The Stepford Wives remains chillingly relevant. Paul Moody, author of the BFI Film Classic on the film, explores the tensions between Forbes and screenwriter William Goldman over their adaptation, and reveals the hidden stories of the women involved in its production, many of whom have been omitted from discussions about it.
