What lies beneath the surface of the visible?
In RESONANCE, Leonie van der Helm and Annet Neijmeijer bring together their lens-based work in a carefully curated exhibition. Through various visual languages, they explore what lies beneath the surface of the visible. Central to the work is the parallel between architectural space and the human body: walls and skin both function as membranes that protect, define, and simultaneously conceal something.
An encounter between two visual languages
The works engage in a substantive dialogue with one another. What becomes visible in one work as a trace, distortion, or hidden layer finds an echo in the other through shifting perspectives and spatial tension. This creates an exhibition that invites attentive viewing and in which new connections become visible between body, space, and memory.
