Toa Payoh Guitar Club (TPGC) | Postcards in Music
About the event
Music has a way of taking us places — to distant cities, familiar memories and moments we hold dear.
Join the Toa Payoh Guitar Club (TPGC) for Postcards in Music, an afternoon of melodies inspired by places, cultures and stories from near and far. Journey from the romance of France to the evocative sounds of Japan and China, alongside familiar favourites brought to life through guitar orchestra, smaller ensembles and strum-and-sing performances.
Like postcards collected along a journey, each piece offers a different musical snapshot — inviting audiences to discover the many voices of the guitar and the connections that music creates across cultures, generations and experiences.
About Toa Payoh Guitar Club
The Toa Payoh Guitar Club (TPGC), established in 1974 at the Toa Payoh Library, is Singapore's longest-standing community guitar ensemble. From its beginnings as a library group to a thriving, independent organisation, TPGC has promoted classical guitar and nurtured homegrown talents recognized beyond Singapore. Featuring the Niibori guitar orchestra, which emulates the depth of a full orchestra, TPGC unites diverse members and continues to inspire artistic growth and musical passion.
