Rhythm and Soul: Mosaic Workshop

Pre-cut tiles, color and composition guide a beginner-friendly mosaic workshop led by glass and metal artist JoKeeta. The session takes place Tuesday, December 1, at the Scott Galvin Community Center in North Miami as part of the 12th annual AfriKin Art Fair’s Miami Art Week programming. Participants will receive step-by-step instruction and leave with a completed mosaic piece.
All materials are provided, allowing guests to focus on arranging tiles and developing their designs without cutting glass. The class is limited to six to 12 participants to provide personalized guidance, and no previous mosaic-making experience is required.
JoKeeta works across stained glass, mosaics and metal art, using materials and collected objects to connect history with contemporary experience. Rhythm and Soul complements the AfriKin Art Fair’s 2026 theme, GRIOT: Urgent Storytelling for Our Times, which examines cultural memory, storytelling and community across the African diaspora. The fair runs November 29 through December 6 at Maison AfriKin.
