Waterwijs: Workshop on Measuring Water Quality
About the event
During the Waterwise workshop on Thursday 6 August at the Marineterrein you will discover how water quality is measured. Find out how your observations can contribute to water quality research and what else the water can reveal. Water quality is increasingly under pressure due to climate change, pollution, and the ways we shape and use our environment. At the same time, it is often difficult to tell how healthy water really is, even though it has a direct impact on people, animals, and ecosystems around us. That is why learning how to observe and better understand what is happening in and around water is becoming more important than ever. During the workshop, you will explore how water quality is monitored and assessed. With simple tools and hands-on activities, you'll get to test and observe water yourself. You will learn how to recognise signs of pollution and discover how your own observations can contribute to wider water quality research. Along the way, you will gain practical skills and tools that you can also use to explore and monitor water in your own surroundings. In this way, you will gain more understanding of water quality and become wiser about water. In other words: water wise! Join us outside to observe, measure, and discover all the things water can tell you.
