Lucid Dreaming Meetup: Nightmares, Shadows & the Uncanny
About the event
October is for the dreams we don't talk about at breakfast. The chase you couldn't outrun. The figure at the foot of the bed. The dream that seemed to know something before you did. For our spooky season meetup, we're turning to the darker side of the night. Come swap your strangest dreams, and talk about what changes when you realize you're dreaming just as a dream turns dark. What we'll talk about
• Nightmares: how becoming lucid changes a bad dream, and what happens when you stop running and turn around. • Sleep paralysis & shadow figures: one of the most "haunted" experiences the brain can produce, why it happens, and why many lucid dreamers treat it as a doorway into a lucid dream. • "Supernatural" dreams: dreams that seemed to predict something, visits from loved ones who have passed, shared dreams, false awakenings. What people report, and how to think about it with an open and careful mind.
How the evening goes We start at dusk with cacao, tea and quick introductions, then a short framing of the theme. Next, a story circle: share your spookiest dream, or just listen. We close with techniques you can try, and an intention for the night ahead. Who should come Anyone is welcome. Whether you've never had a lucid dream, have them regularly, or are simply curious, you'll fit right in. No experience needed. Good to know
• Monday, October 5, 7:00 to 9:00 pm. • We'll gather outside at Casa de Luz if the evening is warm, or inside at Third Eye Cacao if it's chilly. We'll confirm the spot the day before. • Cacao and tea drinks from Third Eye Cacao. • Bringing a dream journal is encouraged, not required. • This is a conversation among dreamers, not therapy. Share only what you want to share.
