About the event

How does your child see you? Become the subject of your child's imagination with an artwork that uses your face as their canvas! Forget “Smile for the camera!”. In this playful art experience, kids become art directors, choosing props and transforming their parent’s face into a living canvas. A professional photographer captures the results – part-hilarious, part-moving, all unforgettable – forming an exhibition open to all. Created by Jessica Wilson, this acclaimed interactive project has toured internationally, amassing nearly 2000 portraits which celebrate the fascinating relationship between parent and child. Booking essential for: STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS 27 - 30 September For 6 - 12 year olds with one adult partner $25/ $20 concession In this unique hands-on experience children become the art director of a creative portrait of a parent or close adult. Each unique portrait will be captured by professional photographer and included in a public exhibition, before being given to you hang on a wall at home. Your 45-minute experience begins with fun questions to the child artist about what kind of personality their parent has. They then choose a suitable key object, situate it in the weirdest location possible on that adult's head and then assemble the rest of their creative portrait directly onto this 'subject's' face. The pair then enter the studio where they direct the photoshoot in collaboration with the photographer. Please note: Ticket buyers will need to purchase a minimum of two tickets, for the child and one for the adult partner. No bookings required for: EXHIBITION  2 - 11 October All Ages Free MAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHY WEEKEND  10 - 11 October- 10am - 1pm; 2pm - 4pm All Ages Free With an exciting selection of materials, the child uses their adult or parent’s face as the canvas for a unique, and often bizarre, portrait. Once complete the parent / child pair move to the studio area where a photo is taken using your own phone or camera. SNAP. This amazing portrait is yours to keep.
