Extend Your Growing Season with Low Tunnels
About the event
Urban gardening doesn’t have to stop when temperatures drop! This workshop will teach you how to build low tunnels to protect cold-hardy crops and extend your growing season in small spaces like community plots, backyards, and rooftops. Learn which winter crops thrive in NYC’s climate and how to choose and use materials that fit tight urban gardens. Gain practical, space-efficient skills to construct sturdy low tunnels so you can keep growing fresh produce through the winter.Register HereNYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation’s most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City.
