The rap battle celebrates Hip-hop culture, marginal literature and peripheral artistic expression. The activity takes a competitive and interactive format, bringing together MCs, audience and guests in a dynamic cultural space that encourages creativity, improvisation, respect and popular participation. Winners are determined by popular vote and/or a panel of pre-selected technical judges. The battle unfolds in stages: participant reception and registration; opening remarks and rule explanation; elimination-format battles; audience interaction between rounds; winner announcement; closing remarks. Collective presenters lead the event with support from a sound technician. Kevin D. Ph. Rocha, artistically known as LITERARUA, is an MC, writer, poet and independent cultural agent from Guarulhos. For over 12 years he has worked in Hip-hop culture using freestyle, marginal literature and poetry as tools for recovery, awareness and strengthening of peripheral identity. Founder of the first rap battle in the Pimentas neighbourhood and the city's first MC league, he is also author of the books Tô na rua, Prazer, Meu nome é poesia, Gzuis, ouve nossa prece and Ratos - pra falar de quem é da rua, and has released his first mixtape "Siso de Andrômeda" with Pancadaria Records. Active in the MobDikGrr collective and city battles, he now helps organize the city's oldest battle, Batalha da Matriz, continuing to set an example for youth. André Lucas Torres dos Santos, artistically known as Historiador, is an MC and artist active in Hip-hop culture for over 12 years. His trajectory was built through rap battles, freestyle culture and the promotion of peripheral expression as a tool of identity and resistance. An active member of the independent scene, he is also author of the EP "Latrocínio", a work that reinforces his connection to urban reality and street life. Coral Gelmo is an MC, presenter, slammer and slam master who has been organized by various collectives and participated in executing numerous events.
