Heritage Journey | Migrant City Cartographies

The activity Cartografias da Cidade Migrante invites the public to think about the city through the different migratory experiences that shaped its formation. Although São Paulo was built by a diversity of social groups, not all of these trajectories received the same recognition, making some memories more visible than others. Starting from a conversation in the exhibition Migrar: histórias compartilhadas sobre nós, participants will be invited to carry out an activity revisiting the city through a critical cartography, identifying places, references and heritage that reveal the presence and contribution of internal migrations, with emphasis on migration from the Northeast. The activity proposes a new look at São Paulo's material and immaterial heritage, valuing the multiple stories and identities that continue to transform the city.
