Derek Eyden LIVE! @ café Roux

Following his last three sold-out shows in a row, the international award-winning music video producer/director and music composer, Derek Eyden, returns for a special one-night-only concert featuring an ever-changing line-up of musicians and artists joining him on stage. The evening will move between heartfelt acoustic folk songs, foot-tapping Afrocentric tracks and hard-hitting protest rock, bringing together the many musical sides of Derek’s work. Derek will perform several tracks with Sweet Melodies, the Masiphumelele-based gospel choir he is currently recording with, for an upcoming album release. There’ll also be cameo performances by local rapper Leo Munashe, singer Matt Baker, with more special guests to be announced. Accompanying the vocals are well-known bassist Rob Nel from legendary South African rock band Watershed and James Kielczynski, former drummer for Wendy Oldfield. The concert will also feature deep south rock band Clockwork, who will perform one of Derek’s songs that they will be recording and releasing in the coming months. A highlight of the evening will be a live performance of “Blood On Your Lips”, the video for which was selected by numerous film festivals around the world, winning Best Music Video at the Sacramento Film and Arts Festival as well as the Fort Smith International Film Festival. The evening promises to be an expansive, collaborative night of music that brings together established musicians, new voices and Derek’s growing musical community for one unforgettable live performance.
