Oedipus at Colonus by Sophocles
About the event
Sophocles' classic tragedy, *Oedipus at Colonus,* continues the story of the tragic character Oedipus as he nears the end of his life, telling the story of the now-blind Oedipus's visit to Colonus with his daughters Ismene and Antigone, as suppliants of King Theseus. One of the most important and influential works of ancient Greek theater, Oedipus at Colonus continues to shock and provoke modern audiences, raising piercing questions about the human condition, fate, and justice in a broken world. With Oedipus at Colonus, readers can explore the timeless themes of Sophocles' ancient tragedy, and discover its powerful relevance in the modern world.
