12FU, DIY FEST and Pretty Ugly team up to organize this absolute rager in OCCII. PYREX – New York This is bad music for bad people in the best way possible. Absolutely recommended. Creeping elements of post-punk claw through the wreckage, but it’s all too snotty and punk-forward to fit too neatly into that box. Noisy, effects-laden instruments are in service of the overall sound, propping it up rather than masking deficiencies. Energetic one-two beats burst out of motorik grooves, and riffs twist in unusual ways URIN – Berlin From Berlin, but with members from all over the place (just like Berlin itself, right?) Their sound is unique and they were able to find their space sonically, as they sound unlike any other bands that come to mind. Maybe the best way to describe it is a modern version of GAI, but it still is not enough to get the whole picture, so just go crazy. GIMIC – Bristol I have no other way to describe this other than post-post-punk. It’s like if you took BOW WOW WOW and threw them into a vat of toxic waste. Dance-y enough to groove to, while simultaneously being manic enough to have a complete and total meltdown in the pit. Guitar and bass are clean with a little bit of distorted twang. Very natural and classic. TRAUMATIZER – Haarlem Local heroes! Excellent riffs, excellent drumming, and excellent vocals, what more could you ask for? For fans of ANTI-CIMEX, SACRILEGE, and MOTÖRHEAD, this one’s a no-brainer. Come to OCCII for this total banger. Doors at 8!
