Roots, Routes & Revolution: Discovering the Stories of Our Ancestors

Cyndi Ingle, Janice Lovelace, Carolyn Ladd, and Stephanie O’Connell will each share insights into the evolving practice of genealogy, the experiences of Black Americans during the Revolutionary War, strategies for discovering Revolutionary-era ancestors, and the journeys of Irish immigrants and their families across America. Together, these sessions offer practical resources and fresh inspiration for genealogists at any stage.

This event also celebrates the 100th anniversary of the genealogy collection at The Seattle Public Library, honoring a century of helping generations of researchers discover, preserve, and share the stories of the people who came before us.

Please arrive by 8:50 am to ensure your seat is available. Unoccupied seats at 8:55 am will be offered first come, first served to patrons on the waiting list.

During the lunch period, stop by Meeting Room 2 on Level 4, where representatives from the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) Puget Sound Chapter, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Washington/local chapter, and the Seattle Genealogical Society will be on hand at tables to answer questions and share information.

Attendees should plan to bring or buy their own lunch. Brown bag lunches are welcome in the Auditorium and in the designated eating area on Level 3 of the Central Library.
