Introducción a la meditación y el mindfulness
About the event
We propose to participants the use of "mindfulness tools" and meditation for the care of their mind and the development of their natural capacities to live their life and relationships with people to the fullest. In the session, we will see the fundamentals of mindfulness and meditation, and we will offer basic instructions to get started in the different forms of meditation, mainly Buddhist. We will present the "mindfulness activities" that in recent decades have been so successfully used in Psychology, Education, and in the field of Personal Development. "Mindfulness activities" can teach you to better manage your emotions and thoughts, to curb the mechanical reactions of your mind, observe your mental states and processes, and respond with more wisdom and kindness to the different circumstances of your life. In meditation, we become spectators of our own mind, of its contents; we do not feed the thoughts, sensations, or emotions that appear in it, nor do we judge or evaluate them, we simply accept them. We do not react automatically to what we experience, nor do we over-identify with the contents of our mind; we seek to be aware of what we do, feel, and think, we try to be witnesses of things, our body, sensations, and mental states and processes, living the present, the here and now that moment by moment constitutes our life, in a full, generous, and conciliatory way. Meditation allows you to cultivate your ability to be attentive, concentrated, and connected with your natural resources for love and self-care. Meditation is a process of self-knowledge and offers you moments of stillness and silence, promoting your well-being. **Instructor**: Javier Echegoyen (Kōkan) President of the Secular Buddhist Community Sendero del Despertar.
