Bring Him Down to A Portable Size

Writer Riko receives a call from the police that her older brother has died unexpectedly. As she travels to where his brother had been living, painful memories of their troubled relationship begin to resurface.

Riko reunites for the first time in seven years with her brother's ex-wife, Kanako, his daughter Marina, and son Ryoichi, who is now in temporary child welfare care. As they clean out the garbage-filled apartment where his brother once lived, old photographs and forgotten belongings reveal unexpected truths about the man they thought they knew. Over four emotional days, the four confront grief, resentment, and long-buried memories, ultimately rediscovering what it means to be a family.
