About the event
Sexuality has always been shaped by more than just personal desire. Across cultures and throughout history, societies have developed their own ideas about what is acceptable, inappropriate, respectable, or taboo when it comes to sex.
Those boundaries can be influenced by religion, tradition, laws, social expectations, and changing cultural values. And as societies evolve, so do our ideas about sexual freedom, restraint, and what should—or shouldn’t—be considered acceptable.
For this debate, we’ll explore the complex relationship between sex and morality, and how societies shape the way we think about and experience sexuality.
Join us for what promises to be a lively and thought-provoking discussion!
This debate will follow a British Parliamentary format with eight debaters split into four teams of two.
Participants who wish to speak are highly encouraged to bring a paper and pen. You are welcome to participate even if you have no prior debating experience.
