Guy Forsyth Presents: The Hot Nut Spankers In the mid-1990s, a crew of misfit Austin musicians banded together over a raw, unamplified love of vintage acoustic blues, hot jazz, and unfiltered ragtime—giving rise to the legendary Asylum Street Spankers. As the Spankers eventually went their separate ways, Guy Forsyth forged ahead with his solo career without ever letting that acoustic string-band fire die. He launched the Hot Nut Riveters, branching out into spin-offs like The Revelators and 78 Special, before bringing it all back home to roost with the Riveters as their primary recording home. Now, for one glorious night on September 5th, Forsyth is gathering the good, the bad, the ugly, the old, and the new for an unprecedented crossover reunion. It’s a historic gathering bringing Spankers from across the U.S. and Riveter chops together under one roof—giving you every reason in the world to get up and "Shake It In a Circular Motion!"
