Special Screening: "Filipiñana" @ The Brattle & Dinner @ Alden & Harlow
About the event
Rather short notice for this event but The Brattle is doing a special engagement of the Filipino film, *Filipiñana,* a black comedy-drama about class disparities in Manila written and directed by Rafael Manuel in his feature directorial debut.
Description: The story follows Isabel as she navigates the rigid hierarchy of a country club. Assigned to work under the club's president, Dr. Palanca, Isabel feels an inexplicable fascination with him after discovering they share roots in the Ilocos region. Meanwhile, Clara hesitates to accept her uncle's offer to join his golf equipment business, feeling unsettled by the subservient treatment of the resort staff. *Filipiñana* explores social and class disparities with humor and pathos.
We are going to the Sunday 4:30PM showing. This film is presented in Tagolog with English subtitles. Seating at The Brattle Theater is not assigned - it's a on a first come, first serve basis. You can pre-purchase tickets [HERE](https://brattlefilm.org/purchase/1682643/).
