Asava Trek

Asava, a relatively less known fort in Boisar, offers a wide variety of elements that would gratify both the nature lover and history buff alike! The recently excavated cannon is on proud display at the summit and helps us time-travel through the centuries, when this fort would have probably served as a strategic watchtower that guarded the coastal regions of Palghar-Boisar. The two water cisterns that get filled during the monsoons are an added attraction, along with a rain-water harvesting tank with steps, and the ancient “Sleeping Seeta”, that has been excavated and worshiped by the villagers. The Ganesh Gufa, along with its natural water source, is a cozy but spacious cave, that can host about a hundred people at once.

• Reporting at Boisar Railway Station - 08:00 AM (Board the 05:52 AM Churchgate to Dahanu Road Fast train in Western line) • Breakfast - 30 minutes. • Travel by hired vehicle from Boisar to the base village - 20 minutes. • Event Briefing - 15 minutes. • Ascend trek to Asava fort - 2 hours • Explore and rest at the summit - 1 hour. • Descent trek to the base village - 2 hours • Travel by the hired vehicle to Boisar - 25 minutes. • Lunch Break at a restaurant - 1 hour. • Conclude the trek with good memories.
