[Workshop] A Transformative AI Strategy for Europe

Europe hosts only about three times as much AI compute as a single data centre site being completed in Malaysia this year and European model developers collectively earn less than 2% of the revenue of just two US counterparts. That's the starting point of *A Transformative AI Strategy for Europe*, published just a few weeks ago. The report argues that AI could transform society before 2030 and asks what Europe should do about it now. Its proposals range from preparing for AI-enabled cyberattacks and loss of control, to hardware that can verify international AI agreements, to using Europe's grip on the chip supply chain as leverage.

No reading is needed before the event. The report is a whopping 206 pages, so we'll read just parts of it, together at the event (The Immediate Objectives in Part A).

After gaining a quick overview of the executive summary, we'll split into small groups where each group will investigate one of the report's five most urgent recommendations, reporting back their findings to the group.
