Tenleytown to Cleveland Park Hike--NEW DATE
About the event
(Postponed from August 2 by poor weather.) Starting from the Tenleytown Metro at noon next Sunday the 9th, we will first walk to the Glover Archbold Park Trailhead just off Van Ness Street. We’ll walk south to the Wesley Heights trail that takes us west to the Battery Kemble trail, and then head south to Fletcher’s Cove. We’ll have lunch there near the Potomac; water and bathrooms are available. After lunch we'll take the Capital Crescent Trail to the tunnel under M Street/Canal Road and get back on the Glover Archbold Park trail, this time northbound. We’ll turn east on the briefly-rugged Whitehaven Trail towards Trader Joes on Wisconsin Avenue, where bathrooms & water are available. We’ll proceed to the Normanstone Trail into Rock Creek Park. We’ll walk northbound on the Park's eponymous trail to Peirce Mill, where bathrooms/water are available once again. Our final leg will take us up to Connecticut Avenue and then a short hop to end at the Cleveland Park Metro, somewhere around 4:30 p.m. There will be an optional stop for beers/food at Nannie O’Brien’s;- website: [https://nannyobriens.com/](https://nannyobriens.com/) This moderately strenuous hike will cover a total distance of roughly 9.5 miles over both natural and paved surfaces. There are some elevation changes en route. Bring plenty of beverages, lunch, sunscreen, bug spray and the $5 trip fee, cash or Venmo. The trip leader will pay this fee for financially challenged Adventurers. Please [click here](https://adventuringlgbtq.com/Adventuring_Release_Form.pdf) to review our release form.
