Beautiful Thing

Feelgood story about the budding gay romance between Jamie and Ste, classmates and neighbours in south-east London borough. Ste is abused by his father and brother and is allowed to stay with Jamie. Light, sometimes comedic exploration of queer relations between young people. Shy Jamie lives on a council estate with his mum. Sporty Ste, his neighbour is abused by his father and brother and is allowed to stay over with Jamie and his mother. The unusual circumstances lead to a tender relationship developing between Jamie and Ste that slowly turns into love.
