Weaving Stories
About the event
Once a month, on a Saturday afternoon, we gather to share stories, make things with our hands, and spend time in the company of other women and people who connect with their feminine energy. Inspired by traditions of gathering to craft, telling stories and passing knowledge between generations, this is a space to reconnect with that simple kind of togetherness.
The first hour is for stories. Around a different prompts each month, we’ll share personal stories, memories or anecdotes from our (chosen) families. We’ll listen for the threads connecting our experiences and see what stories emerge when we weave them together.
The second hour is for making. There will be crafting and painting materials available, but you’re also welcome to bring your own project. Create something inspired by the stories we shared, pick up something new, or simply continue your crochet, knitting or whatever you’re currently making. Mostly, it’s a space to slow down, hang out, chat, make things and enjoy being around like-minded people.
At its heart, this event is about connection. About sharing what we have experienced, what has been passed down to us, and finding strength in what we have in common. You don't have to be an experienced storyteller to attend; just a human who is willing to tell and listen. Bring your hands, your ears, and whatever stories you carry with you.
Free to join The event is free, with an optional donation at the end to help cover the cost of the space and crafting materials. There will be a QR code at the event if you’d like to contribute. No pressure, just come as you are.
