Since its inception in 2023, the Umngqungqo Orchestral Experience has enthralled audiences across Gqeberha, East London, and Makhanda, with a celebrated appearance at the National Arts Festival. Following a sold-out triumph at The Market Theatre, this groundbreaking production now makes its highly anticipated Artscape debut. Led by the renowned Dumza Maswana, Umngqungqo weaves together isiXhosa indigenous music, jazz, storytelling, and orchestral grandeur into a breathtaking celebration of African heritage, culture, and identity. It is more than a performance; it is a journey of rhythm, memory, and pride, honouring the spirit of Africa through sound and story.
