Special event with viewing! Let's talk about: Eighth grade + Moxie!
About the event
This is a special event! We will discuss two movies: one (Moxie!) you should watch before the event, the other (Eighth grade) we will watch together. PLEASE NOTE: the movie viewing will happen in a private location. We will meet by the Charging Bull statue on Beursplein and walk together from there. Make sure you're not late:D
Let's talk about *Eighth Grade* and *Moxie*! Two movies about young girls coming of age and navigating society in the 21st century. The 2018 movie by Bo Burnham sees a girl faking it both in real life and social media. The 2021 movie by Amy Poehler explores the power of press and a (secret) rebellion. What do these movies, their protagonists, and their stories have in common? Are they telling the same story, or are they two different sides of the same coin? Let's talk about it!
The plan is simple: We'll meet up, watch a movie (Eighth grade), and discuss what we think. If you join the meeting, you'll also get to vote for the next movie to discuss! Make sure to watch *Moxie!* before the meeting, and bring your opinions and discussion points to the table. Where to watch *Moxie!*: Netflix
The discussion will be held in English.
Please be there on time, and change your RSVP to the event if you cannot make it!
