Om arrangementet

Soul Sessions Oslo, Jaeger Oslo & MUD Session proudly present this year’s collaborative clubbing experience during Soul Sessions Festival Extended 2026. Friday, 02. October at Jaeger Oslo, 20.00–03.00. TICKETS: https://bit.ly/ClubNight-Frædag-Tickets 🎟️ Without SSO Extended wristband: 200 NOK 🎫 With SSO Extended wristband: 150 NOK 🎫 Battle contestants: 100 NOK (available from https://bit.ly/SSO-TICKETS-CONTESTANTS or at the door) This year we’re doing things a little differently, so get ready for a night packed with lots of FUN: House Battle, OTA Performance, Clubbing and crazy good vibes with some real dope music! Let’s make this a MEMORABLE EVENT. SSO, MUD and Jaeger’s ongoing party collaborations have led to celebrated events in recent years, and this year we’re taking it a step further, bringing House Night, Club Night and Jaeger’s Frædag concept together for one special night. We come with a clear intent to move one’s mind, body and soul through music and movement, while putting forth quality, dope and real underground artistry, predominantly celebrating Black and Latinx music and its heritage. Lastly, it’s all about bringing people from all walks of life together under one roof. Earlier this year, Coflo delivered a hella dope DJ set at SSO’s Encounters 2026 afterparty at Jaeger. We intend to build upon that success and elevate the experience even further. This year marks our most ambitious joint effort to date, as we honor and celebrate two eminent artists in their own right, representing the city of Detroit and its rich musical heritage within Black music. We are super excited to welcome both Kevin Saunderson and Waajeed: ________________________________ 🔥 Kevin Saunderson (US): Platinum-selling recording artist, label boss, festival promoter, true innovator, cultural champion and cracking DJ: there’s a lot to be said about Kevin Saunderson. His influence runs deep through both his adopted hometown of Detroit and music culture as a whole. As one of the legendary Belleville Three, alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May, he helped irreparably change the face of electronic music. With Inner City, alongside vocalist Paris Grey, he gave it some of its most memorable anthems, including “Big Fun” and “Good Life”, amassing 12 UK Top 40 hits and selling over six million records worldwide. His nickname, “The Elevator”, is apt: for his role in transporting Detroit’s new sound to a wider audience, for the high-energy, high-spirit and high-impact DJ sets he’s renowned for, and for a lifetime spent progressing the culture he helped create. At fourteen, he began collaborating as a DJ and producer with J Dilla, T3 and Baatin, becoming one of the founding members of the group that would eventually become Slum Village. His path has since moved fluidly across music and visual arts, always deeply rooted in the creative culture of his hometown. In 2000, Waajeed co-founded Platinum Pied Pipers, later establishing his own label Bling47 as a platform to amplify Detroit’s musical community. Through the label, he was among the earliest to release J Dilla’s instrumental work, while his own productions explored the space between hip-hop and Detroit techno. In 2012, he continued that vision with Dirt Tech Reck, releasing music by artists including Amp Fiddler and Electric Street Orchestra. Waajeed’s work extends far beyond the dancefloor. In 2015, he founded Detroit’s Underground Music Academy (UMA), a music school championing artistic independence, autonomy and collective creation. Bringing together decades of work as a musician, producer, artist and community organizer, Waajeed remains dedicated to both progressing Detroit’s musical legacy and creating space for the generations that follow. Get ready for movement through House Dance and Ballroom culture. ________________________________ ⚡️House Dance 1vs1 House Dance is a freestyle social and club dance culture that developed alongside house music, principally through the underground club scenes of Chicago and New York from the late 1970s through the 1980s and early ’90s. Rather than being created by a single person, it evolved collectively on dance floors, particularly within Black, Latino and LGBTQ+ communities. A 1vs1 House Battle is a dance competition format in which two dancers face each other directly, improvising-or freestyling-to House music selected by a DJ. Unlike choreographed competitions, dancers generally do not know the music beforehand, making musicality, spontaneity, creativity and personal expression central to the battle. ⚡️OTA Performance Ballroom culture, often simply called Ballroom, is a Black and Latino LGBTQ+ subculture that developed in New York City, with important roots in Harlem’s drag-ball traditions of the early 20th century. Modern Ballroom took shape particularly during the 1960s–1980s, as Black and Latino queer and trans people created their own spaces in response to racism and exclusion within existing drag-pageant scenes. In Ballroom, OTA Performance is a competitive voguing category. OTA stands for “Open To All,” meaning the category is not divided by gender identity or Ballroom gender designation. Depending on the particular ball, additional rules may still apply—for example experience level
