La dolce vita

Fellini’s portrait of the Roman jet set never feels dated. Marcello Mastroianni plays the dyed-in-the-wool, cynical paparazzo Marcello who develops an unexpected passion for the recently arrived starlet Sylvia (Anita Ekberg). In Sylvia’s wake, Marcello attends jet set parties in Rome, uncovering the boredom, doubt and chaos lurking beneath the thin veneer of the ‘good life’.
