About the event

################# **Explore Britain’s most stunning trails in a small group of up to 15, travelling together by private minibus to beautiful, remote locations not easily reached by public transport.** **We’ve created a list of [FAQs](https://drive.google.com/file/d/12gIZWTLfA3zQsx1fb0lpv1zOWP2vC5tq/view?usp=drive_link) to help answer your questions.** ################# Get ready for a day that combines **jaw-dropping geology**, **royal history** and **wild coastal beauty** across two of Norfolk's most iconic destinations! We'll begin our day at the elegant seaside resort of **Hunstanton**, where its **famous striped cliffs** reveal 100 million years of Earth's history in three vivid bands: gleaming white chalk at the top, deep red chalk in the middle and warm orange carstone at the base. Walking along the beach with these ancient cliffs as your backdrop is genuinely spectacular – there's **nowhere else in Britain** you can experience this remarkable natural “layer-cake”! We'll then follow the Wolf Trail to uncover the legend of **St Edmund**, England's first Patron Saint and Hunstanton's most famous visitor, before continuing to the charming village of **Old Hunstanton**, with its wide sweep of golden sand, rolling dunes and colourful beach huts. Next, we’ll step onto **royal ground**. **Sandringham** has been the **private country retreat of the British monarchy since 1862** – cherished by four generations and the Royal Family’s traditional home for Christmas and New Year. Here we’ll explore **Sandringham Country Park**, opened to visitors by the Royal Family in 1968, wandering through open heathland and beautiful woodland of Corsican and Scots pines, oak, sweet chestnut and silver birch. This trip is suitable for **BEGINNERS** – a great way to experience hiking before joining our more difficult trips! 🤩 **DISTANCE & DIFFICULTY** Distance: 8 miles (13km). Ascent: 100m. Difficulty: [Easy](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BMjvqhAAdSeCdyzLPHs0z04_e2TiKdci/view?usp=sharing). **ITINERARY** **07:45** Meet outside ibis London City – Shoreditch Hotel, 5 Commercial St, E1 6BF (near Aldgate East Station) **08:00** Sharp departure **10:45-12:45** Hike along the North Sea to Hunstanton's iconic striped cliffs and the golden beach and dunes of Old Hunstanton **13:15-14:00** Lunch at Sandringham **14:00-16:00** Hike to the ancient Royal Woods of Sandringham and Wolferton, or, if you prefer, visit Sandringham House and Gardens (tickets from £13.10) **16:15** Departure **19:00** London, we'll drop you off next to Bow Road Underground Station **TRANSPORT** As on most of our trips, we'll travel in a comfortable 16-seater minibus. **SAFETY** This hike is led by an experienced, Outdoor First Aid qualified hike leader. **BOOKING** To keep ticket prices down and avoid PayPal/Meetup fees (£7 extra per ticket), we kindly ask for payment by bank transfer.
