About the event

Story Luck: Where Stories and Supper Meet Sunday, August 16th, 2025 at Theater Wit https://storyluck.org/story-luck-sunday-potluck/ Now imagine, it's 6:30 PM on Sunday evening. The lobby of Theater Wit fills with the aroma of homemade dishes as storytellers and story-lovers alike gather, each bringing their own contribution to our monthly feast. Some arrive with generations-old recipes, others with their favorite takeout – but everyone brings their appetite for connection. By 7:00 PM, you'll find yourself seated in our intimate theater space, plate full of community-crafted delicacies, ready to experience Chicago's most unique storytelling show. Here, professional performers share the stage with first-time tellers, each voice adding its own flavor to the evening's narrative feast. At The Story Luck Show you're an artistic director, so listen closely! You're not just an audience member – you're part of the show's DNA. Armed with 40 points to award to our open mic performers, you help choose next month's featured teller. Your thoughts shape future shows. You've got agency because when you are listening with delight and intention, you remember the stories better. When you go to work Monday, you'll have a lot to talk about because, The Story Luck Show is a show worth telling stories about! The Evening's Recipe: 6:30 PM: Doors open, potluck begins 7:00 PM: Stories take center stage Location: Theater Wit (1229 W Belmont Ave, Chicago) Your Ticket Options: $20 General Admission FREE with a potluck dish (For $5 seat reservation if you're worried about it selling out.) Limited seating available - early booking recommended \*\*\* Whether you're a seasoned storyteller or a first-time listener, whether you bring a family recipe or simply your attention, you'll find your place at our table. Story Luck is where Chicago comes together to share meals, memories, and moments that matter. Join us for an evening where every dish has a story, and every story feeds the soul. Note: Private parking available at Theater Wit. CTA accessible via Brown/Red Line (Belmont stop). \*\*\* Hosted by the dynamic duo of Daniel Andrew Boyd & Nadia F, who ensure every story finds its perfect moment in the spotlight. The Story Luck Show Theater Wit 1229 West Belmont Sunday August 16th 6:30 PM Doors & Potluck 7:00 PM Show $20 General Ticket Free with a dish or $5 to reserve your potluck seat. (The show is expected to sell out.) Streaming tickets available. It will be streaming on our Facebook Page. \*\*\* These are our Features: Justin Radtke Masson Johnson Jen Polk Trevor Gertonson FAQ: We will be streaming the event! Features have 8 min. Walk up tellers have 5 min. We are not sticklers about food, as long as it can be cut up and shared you get in to the show. We've had a group of four best friends gather together before the show to cook a four-course meal style extravaganzas and we've had broke college kids come with a 75 cent bag of Skittles. We popped it open and poured it into a cup to share. If you want suggestions, main dishes are always super enjoyed. Bringing drinks also a bonus. (We always provide water.)
