Her father's temple in Malaysia was 'forbidden territory'. She learned that non-Christian gods were 'unclean' and 'spiritually dangerous'. He is a Chinese medium (tang ki) who offers his body to the gods. This practice, called 跳童, forms an important framework. Within this framework, Melyn explores identity and soul.
