Michele and Peter Berton Memorial Lecture on Japanese Art: Lyric Voices for Dark Days

How do we find beauty and hope during challenging times? Professor Tom Hare of Princeton University will explore this question by examining a stunning 18th-century album from LACMA’s collection featuring poems and paintings by Tosa Mitsunari. Join us for an intimate look at this rare album, on view during the presentation, to discover how artists and poets of the past used their work to find solace and inspiration in the face of adversity.

This program is part of Third Weekends at LACMA, a monthly line up of free and ticketed programs inspired by our collection and special exhibitions.
