ADE: Neon River & FAST DE
About the event
Experience an unforgettable evening during ADE with Neon River and FAST DE at the Concertgebouw, where electronic sounds and improvisation come together! Neon River
The Amsterdam trio Neon River, consisting of synthesizers, bass, and drums, creates a captivating live experience where improvisation, danceable grooves, and electronic soundscapes converge. Inspired by artists such as Floating Points and Flying Lotus, they build an energetic sound that is equally suitable for attentive listening as for an intense night of dancing. With their combination of jazz craftsmanship and club energy, Neon River is one of the most exciting new names on the Amsterdam electronic scene. The trio consists of Chaerin Im on synthesizers—nominated for an Edison Jazz Award and named NRC Young Artist of the Year—bassist Matteo Mazzù, who tours Europe with the Oracle Sisters, among others, and drummer Pedro Nobre, known from the award-winning NAUSYQA. Together, they form a tight-knit trio that effortlessly strings together refined improvisation and irresistible club grooves.
FAST DE
Expect the unexpected with FAST DE. This Amsterdammer proves that experimental electronics and pure fun go together perfectly. For his new live show, FAST DE has reworked his recently released album FUN into an energetic set full of raw beats, distorted vocals, screeching synthesizers, and driving bass lines. As he effortlessly switches between different instruments, engages the audience, and plays with humor and absurdity, FAST DE constantly keeps his crowd on their toes. Expect an unpredictable show where chaos and order, adventure and dancing come together.
Amsterdam Dance Event at the Concertgebouw
Since 2013, Het Concertgebouw has presented one or more special concerts during ADE that explore the intersections between electronic, classical, and timeless music – whether or not specifically tailored to the setting of the halls. Guests in recent years have included Weval, MEUTE, Young Marco, Jarreau Vandal, Legowelt, Lamsi, Darkside, Junkie XL, and Nils Frahm, among others. After DJ Sasha's performance in 2014, 3voor12 wrote about electronic music at Het Concertgebouw: 'If God was a DJ, he wants this to be his house'!
