Monthly "Pub Moot" and Lecture Series- *in English*
This Month’s Topic:
An Introduction to the Teachings of Mary Magdalene
*"I am she who is revered and adored*
*And she who is reviled with contempt"*
*- The Thunder: perfect mind*
*The life, story and teachings of Mary Magdalene have been shrouded in mystery for centuries. In 591 Pope Gregory slandered Mary Magdalene by “confusing” her to be the unnamed “sinful woman” and in 1969 the Catholic Church finally chose to identify her as a prostitute. However, in the South of France for time immemorial she has been called “Saint Mary Magdalene”, known as the wife and lead disciple of Jesus Christ-or Yeshua bin Joseph, who landed in Saint Marie de la Mare with Mother Mary and her sister Mary of Salome, after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.*
*The gospel of Mary Magdalene was discovered in 1896 in a fifth-century papyrus codex written in Sahidic Coptic in Cairo Egypt. Her gospel has been labled as a gnostic teaching as are the gospels of Thomas and Phillip which refer to the teachings of Yeshua bin Joseph as being focused more on accessing the divine within each being.*
*In 2016 Pope Francis finally corrected the Catholic Church's position by calling Mary Magdalene who she really was, the Apostle to the Apostles.*
*The speaker, Kamani Jinadasa, has been exploring the teachings of Mary Magdalene for over a decade through Mary Magdalene’s gospel and other books which channel her teachings. Kamani would like to share her understanding of this incredible woman as she feels that humanity needs to understand the Magdalene way which would help everyone to see the world through the heart, the divine feminine and help people truly understand the teachings of Yeshua bin Joseph.*
