Opening Junior Grachtenfestival

The ÁMÀL Ensemble opens the Junior Grachtenfestival in front of the Tuinstadhuis in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Seven young musicians from Syria, Siberia, Mexico, and France play a mix of Arabic melodies, Latin grooves, and free improvisation. Music full of stories about departure, arrival, and hope. ÁMÀL Ensemble opens the Junior Grachtenfestival The ÁMÀL Ensemble consists of 7 young musicians with roots in Syria, Siberia, Mexico, and France. Together, they perform a program for all ages, featuring Arabic melodies, Latin grooves, and free improvisation. Their music is about departure, arrival, and hope — themes that are universal and touch everyone. Musicians with a story The musicians are Háshem Kabreet (percussion, handpan), Nour Wahedi (vocals, percussion), Qusai Naim (cello), Kinan Abuakel (buzuk), Kitano Hernandez (keyboards), Anna Zavorina (double bass, vocals and violin), and Romain Gachot (trumpet). Each instrument carries its own story, and together they form a unique sound palette that is difficult to capture in a single genre. Talent development via Orchestre Partout The ÁMÀL Ensemble is part of the talent development program of Orchestre Partout, a platform for musicians in the diaspora. Since 2010, Orchestre Partout has offered newcomers space to develop and share their musical talent. The ensemble has already performed on leading stages in the Netherlands, including the Concertgebouw, and released its first mini-album in 2025.
