Orchestra Miami's 20th Anniversary Celebration
About the event
Mozart and Beethoven anchor a milestone program marking two decades of Orchestra Miami performances. Presented Sunday, November 8 at Pinecrest Gardens, the concert opens Orchestra Miami’s 20th anniversary season and launches its Pinecrest Classical series.
The program begins with Mozart’s Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, the work Orchestra Miami performed at its inaugural concert 20 years ago. Concertmaster Mei Mei Luo, Principal Cellist Aaron Merritt and Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi at the piano then take featured roles in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in C Major, Op. 56, which brings three solo instruments into dialogue with the full orchestra.
Mozart returns to close the evening with Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550, one of the composer’s best-known symphonic works.
