Writing from Real Life: Incorporating Sensory Detail in Creative Writing Incoming Writer in Residence Loghan Paylor will be launching their residency with a fun and generative writing class. The sensory world is all around us, providing an unending source of inspiration, interaction and new experiences. From the taste of a favourite family dish to the familiar landscape of a daily commute, writers can use ordinary, personal experiences to enhance and inspire their writing. This class will focus on incorporating details from real life and personal memories to create fictional scenes. We will practice using our own experiences to inspire and enhance our fictional writing through sensory detail, emotional memory and embodied creativity. You can expect to participate in two solo writing exercises and write a paragraph intended to inspire longer work. *** This program is supported by the Friends of The Vancouver Public Library, a community of library lovers who volunteer, fundraise, and advocate i n support of the Vancouver Public Library.
