About the event

About the Event
Do you know the names of the flora and fauna that pass you by in your neighbourhood? Do you notice when the bushes next to your nearest bus stop are flowering? In this image-based journalling workshop, poet Chrystal Ho invites you to slow down, look closely at the natural world in your everyday life, and write about it.
Before the session, you will submit two photographs: one of nature from within your home, and one from outside it. These, coupled with printed illustrations of Singapore’s biological history, will serve as the starting point for your journaling entry. Chrystal will share her poetry and creative process, then guide you through a series of prompts to respond to your chosen images in words. No writing experience necessary, only your observations, memories, and reflections.
Look forward to:
• An introduction to Chrystal Ho's poetry and writing process
• Guided writing prompts to explore your relationship with the natural world
• Print-outs from Singapore's biological history and your uploaded photographs to add to your journal
After registering, please submit your two photographs here by 28 September (Monday): https://go.gov.sg/cc3-form
Please bring your own journal or notebook, and any additional materials or photographs you'd like to use (stickers, glue).
