Join Chicago Sews for our August Bring Your Own Machine (BYOM) Open Sew! As the seasons begin to shift, it’s the perfect time to carve out a few dedicated hours to sit down with your machine and make meaningful progress on your projects. We’ll gather at the Skokie Public Library for a relaxed, welcoming afternoon of sewing and conversation. Whether you’re finishing up a lingering WIP, cutting into fresh spring fabric, or simply building momentum, BYOM is designed to give you the space and time to focus — alongside fellow sewists who understand the joy of a productive stitch session. BYOM events are intentionally low-pressure and social. Work at your own pace, share what you’re making if you’d like, and enjoy being in a room full of people who just get it. All experience levels are welcome — beginners, seasoned sewists, and everyone in between. **Event Details** Saturday, August 15, 2026 1:00-4:00 PM Skokie Public Library **What to Bring:** * Your sewing machine (in good working order) * A project to work on * Necessary tools, notions, and extension cord Seats are plentiful, but table space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis — plan to arrive early if you need extra room to spread out. Come ready to sew, connect, and enjoy a few uninterrupted hours of creative time. Happy Making, The Chicago Sews Team ✂️
