The new free art route in the Amsterdam Forest. Around us lives a world you usually do not see: fungal threads connecting trees, soil life holding centuries-old secrets, phytoncides giving our health a boost. From September 2026, Het Onzichtbare Zichtbaar exposes these hidden layers of the Amsterdam Forest.
There is more life than the naked eye or ear perceives.
After a successful first edition in 2025, Het Onzichtbare Zichtbaar returns to the Amsterdamse Bos. The Amsterdamse Bos once again forms the backdrop for a free temporary art route, featuring seven special works that invite you to slow down and view nature with different eyes.
Almost all works were developed specifically for the Amsterdamse Bos and invite you to look, listen, and feel. Take a seat among the trees at Het Verstrengelde Lijf, discover the traces of climate change in Borrowed Skin, listen to ecological data in Halitus Terrae, or experience the power of the Forest during Bad in het Bos.
Dust of Time, Living Soil, and the film The Underground Astronaut also introduce you to the invisible worlds that together form the living network of the Forest; and of which we ourselves are a part.
