About the event

Woolwich to Chatswood along Lane Cove River- 16.5km I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land on which i walk, the Cammeraygal people of the Ku-ring-gai Aboriginal Tribe & pay respect to the Elders past, present & emerging.

🌳Time & Meeting Place: 8.45am [Circular Quay, Wharf 5, Side A](https://tinyurl.com/ncemx3aj)

🌳About: This is a picturesque walk that follows the Lane Cove River. Harbour, wetland & river views. It's good little workout..... shady, goldilocks warm weather distance & finish around lunchtime.

🌳Route: After catching the free ferry from Circular Quay we take in amazing views of the harbour before landing at Woolwich Wharf. We walk some suburban streets thru Woolwich & Hunter's Hill before heading along the Lane Cove River to Chatswood West. From there we walk through Blue Gum Reserve, followed by a very short steep walk on local streets to finish at *[Chatswood Station](https://tinyurl.com/5ayamhm4)*. We should arrive at Chatswood around 1.30pm. The Metro takes 12 minutes to get to Gadigal Station near Town Hall.

🌳Exit points: You can exit pretty much anywhere along the route.

🌳Distance: 16.5km

🌳Type of walk: Shady with well established bush tracks & footpaths. Some moderate terrain towards the end.

🌳Difficulty: Moderate. There are some rocky, hilly sections & steps. Total elevation 322 m.

🌳Walking Pace: We will maintain a steady pace and average 4-4.5 km per hour.

🌳Public Transport: Depart - 8.45am [Circular Quay, Wharf 5, Side A](https://tinyurl.com/ncemx3aj). Arrive- 9.08am [Woolwich Wharf](https://tinyurl.com/4ev2sxfw). At the end of the walk there's a Metro train back to the CBD or northside buses..

• Trailwalker shoes with good grip • 1 litre of water, optional hydralytes • BRING LUNCH & snacks. No food to buy on the way. • Light rain jacket depending on conditions • Sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim • Eagerness to explore
