Love Lies Bleeding: Sapphic Film Series
About the event
Love, muscles, crime, obsession, Kristen Stewart… what could possibly go wrong?
Join us for the next Sapphic Film Series at Villa Vida Café with a free screening of Love Lies Bleeding (2024), directed by Rose Glass and starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian.
Set in the late 1980s, the film follows reclusive gym manager Lou, who falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder passing through town on her way to Las Vegas. Their intense romance soon gets tangled up with Lou’s criminal family — and things get messy. Very messy.
Expect queer desire, revenge, dark humour, bodybuilding, questionable decisions and a lot of blood. 🩸
