The Twelve Tones of Christmas It’s beginning to sound a lot like… Schoenberg.Ready to hear your favorite Christmas songs in a whole new way?The Twelve Tones of Christmas presents classic seasonal favorites reimagined through the endlessly fascinating - and sometimes delightfully strange - world of 20th-century compositional techniques. A brainchild of Maria Männistö and Marcin Pączkowski, the program applies 12-tone and atonal techniques to traditional holiday repertoire, offering an entirely new harmonic perspective on familiar melodies. Featured selections include reimagined versions of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “O Tannenbaum,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”Never heard 12-tone music? Perfect. You’ve definitely heard Christmas music. What happens when the two meet? Well, you’ll have to hear it for yourself!
