Talk Art: 'Brilliant: Unexpected Art from Everywhere'
About the event
Actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament host Talk Art, a podcast dedicated to the world of art featuring exclusive interviews with leading artists, curators & gallerists, and even occasionally their talented friends from other industries like acting, music and journalism. In celebration of the publication of the book Brilliant: Unexpected Art from Everywhere (Monacelli), join us for a very special live taping of Talk Art featuring interviews with contemporary photographers whose work appears in the book: namely Keerthana Kunnath, Tami Aftab and Mous Lamrabat. The evening will explore the magic of art and why it connects us all in such fantastic ways. Brilliant: Unexpected Art from Everywhere is a bold, visually rich celebration of today’s most exciting artists. Curated by WePresent, the award-winning arts and editorial platform from WeTransfer, telling unexpected stories of creativity from across the globe, many of these artworks have never before been published in print. They range from Mous Lamrabat’s color-saturated exploration of ’90s nostalgia in 2025 Senegal and Qatar, to behind-the-scenes looks at Riz Ahmed and Aneil Karia’s Oscar-winning short film The Long Goodbye and the making of FKA twigs’ electrifying music video Cellophane. Themed around the concept of “discovery,” the featured works address a diverse range of topics, including cultural memory, immigration, the female gaze, physical transformation, and the internet.
